The Wrench is a melee weapon featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. It can be given out as a Quest reward, bought from various Merchants or found on killed Zombies or in Metal chests. It cannot obtain a higher level than player level 24.
Overview[]
The Wrench is one of the better low level blunt weapons that can be obtained during the early game. It has decent force for an early game weapon, with a similar damage level. Whilst these two are medium in terms of the overall blunt weapons available, it is still serviceable for low level and can quite easily break limbs and heads. The weapon also has decent durability for what it is, though all this comes at a medium stamina cost. As such, the Wrench can easily deal with Infected and Walkers, and can even deal with multiple at once quite well, though against large hordes it does struggle. It's not ideal for taking on something like a Thug, though it can do it, and it's best to avoid tackling special infected with a Wrench.

- Darvin Bark at the Lighthouse will give a Wrench as a reward for completing his side quest A Ray of Hope.
- Several merchants can sell Wrenches:
- Wayne at the Lifeguard Tower in the Resort can sell one.
- Javier Wimsatt at the Lighthouse can also sell one.
- Rodrigue at Saint Christopher's Church can sell a Wrench.
- Florencio Morales at the Warehouse can also sell one after completing his side quest Spicy Drinks.
- Cahaya Dian in Moresby can also sell one.
- A Wrench can be found in a toolbox on the roof of the Lifeguard Tower after the side quest On the Air has been completed.
- Another Wrench can be found in the Warehouse in Moresby, on a tool rack.
- In the Definitive Edition, the Wrench has "Heavy Duty 10" written on the side of it.
