The Wooden Baton is a variant of the Baton featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. It can be sold by certain Merchants or found on killed Zombies or in Metal chests.
Overview[]
The Wooden Baton is the worst of all the batons available, with a medium durability and force, but relatively low damage compared to other blunt weapons and batons. As such, whilst the Wooden Baton is capable of dealing with individual Walkers and Infected, it struggles more to deal with larger hordes, where the low damage means it will take multiple headshots to kill a Walker, and with its low-medium stamina use, you will quite often run out of stamina mid-fight against a larger horde. Also due to its low damage, it struggles to quickly kill Thugs and other special infected, meaning a stronger blunt weapon like a Big Baseball Bat or Kanabo is a superior choice. The Wooden Baton also has a similar weapon reach to a zombie.

- Wayne at the Lifeguard Tower in the Resort can sell one.
- Javier Wimsatt at the Lighthouse can sell one.
- Rodrigue at Saint Christopher's Church can sell Wooden Batons.
- Cahaya Dian in Moresby can also sell them.
- In Riptide, Batram at Mataka Village can sell one before he disappears.
- It is generally one of the weakest weapons in the game.
- It is the only baton variant unable to be modded with the baton-exclusive mod the Bloody Mary Mod. This is likely due to its level 24 spawn cap and the mod being collecting in the late game, when wooden batons have likely stopped spawning.
