The Universal Axe is a variant of the Axe and a type of sharp weapon featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. It can be sold by various Merchants and found in Metal chests or on killed Zombies.

- Kurt Keeble in Moresby can sell one.
- Keenan Fisher at the River Village can sell one after getting his stock back at the end of the main Quest Chasing Shadows.
- Dwight Turner at the Overpass Camp can sell one after completing his side quest Visit to the Pub.
- Both Sebastian Black and Michael Stick in the Mingende Jungle can also sell one.
- Joel Dirt at the Laboratory can sell one.
- Jeremy at the Prison Canteen can also sell a Universal Axe.
