Di2 third marker location

The Third Marker is a Journal featured in Dead Island 2. It is one of the collectables possible used to gain the achievement Bookworm. It is a part of a website detailing the incident on Banoi Island.

On a computer desk at the Fury Experience just before the entrance to Utopia at SoLA. Towards the top of the map is the Fury Experience, and the collectible is found on a red computer desk.

Banoi Incident
So, if you're on this website, you're informed enough to know that the incident in Banoi 10 years ago was not a 'natural disaster' as the authorities claimed.

Grainy, low-res images smuggled off the archipelago during the cleanup operation showed bodies with livid flesh and horrific injuries - many of which appeared to be consistent with bite marks.

many members of the prepper/believer community took these images to be evidence that Banoi was ground zero.

Let me say that again for the cheap seats: the outbreak we've all be preparing for? It has already begun.

The Order of Agwe
But how did it start? Science tells us zombification is impossible, right? Well, apart from the art fungus thing - but that can't infect warm-blooded creatures. Well, I have a trusted source that may have found the answer.

According to my source, a group known as 'Agwe' is in possession of the only known copy of an ancient velum tome that chronicles a pivotal moment in human history. Aeons ago, a group of outsiders (referred to in the book as 'Wayfarers') made contact with the order's ancestors.

During the visit, the Wayfarers reportedly described several Markers in our genetic code. Over time, they explained, each of these Markers would unlock a new stage of human evolution.

The Third Marker
Agwe's holy book, my source tells me, accurately describes how the first two Markers would affect human evolution. The first enabled us to develop a complex system of language. The second allowed us to become self conscious.

The third, the book claims, will unlock various genetic gifts - including a longer lifespan.

It is Agwe's belief that this 'Third Marker' may have been corrupted. Instead of extending human life, they believe that it may now be preventing people from dying.

What Went Wrong?
What they don't yet know is what corrupted the Third Marker in the first place. Ecosystem breakdown? Pollution? Deliberate intervention? The answer continues to elude them.

Until I can get images of the book, or make contact with a member of Agwe, I'll be taking this information with a pinch of salt.

However, at this point in time, the 'Third Marker' is - for my money - the most plausible explanation we have.
