The Tenderizer is a variant of the Meat Hammer a rare Blunt Maiming weapon featured in Dead Island 2. It can be purchased from Kai at the Blue Crab Grill in Venice Beach.

Overview[]

The Tenderizer is a good way to get an excellent mid-game bleed weapon if you do not already have one. It deals fairly high damage with good force, and has ok durability to boot. As it is pre-modded, you don't need to gather or spend resources to put one on, however as it also can't be removed it means it is locked into a bleed damage type. The affixed perk Bloodthirsty means it can deal more damage the more it kills, as well as generate Fury, meaning the weapon is best kept for killing basic zombies like Walkers first rather than apex zombies in order to make the most of the damage boost from killing enemies. Target Walkers, Shamblers, Runners, and their variants before going after any apex zombies nearby so you can generate extra damage. The major downside of the weapon is its pre-equipped mod. Since it is a Puncturator Mod, it will deal no damage against spiky enemies, which is an issue for the Venice Beach area where you purchase it as the area around the Venice Beach FOB has a lot of Spiky Walkers and Spiky Runners.
