Terminal Siege is a very hard difficulty main quest given to the Hero by Marvin in Dead Island: Riptide. It is another siege event and the third one you will encounter.
Synopsis[]
After arriving to the Pinai Ferry Station and eliminating all of the prisoners, the Hero must help protect the group while Marvin starts the ferry's engine.
Walkthrough[]
- It is recommended that you prepare you defences before opening the door to talk to Marvin. See notes below on what to do.
- Open the door on your minimap to find Marvin cowering inside. He tells you that he knows how to operate the ferry and the hero will radio Samuel Hardy with the news, making the screen fade to black as the group moves to the ferry station.
- You have around 45 seconds to prepare before a precursor wave turns up.
- Fight it back, then prepare your defences if you haven't already.
- Place down metal fences over all the entrances you can, and move the miniguns to advantageous positions. Again, see notes below for information.
- Once your defences are prepared with mines, etc, go and talk to Marvin.
- He warns you that the ferry engines will be loud and attract a lot of zombies from miles around. You'll have to defend the area until the ferry arrives.
- There's going to be a lot of zombies attacking you, so take out a good weapon and have some healing items ready. A siege health bar will appear at the top of your screen when the first wave arrives.
- The first wave will have loads of Walkers, Infected, Thugs, Suiciders as well as possibly some Butchers. The second wave is also similar, but will have frenzied versions of the zombies, which have more health and deal more damage.
- Help your AI teammates when possible. They are very useful in these situations.
- The third wave will arrive with a cutscene, showing the ferry arriving, but a Screamer is loose on it. This is a new infected for you to have to deal with. Use a minigun to deal with it quickly. See its dedicated page for more tips.
- Not only will a Screamer arrive on the ferry, but Butchers, and Grenadiers will turn up in the final wave. Be prepared for them with some minigun ammo.
- Once all the zombies are dead and the siege bar is gone, head to the newly arrived ferry. Loot the area first before heading to the ferry bridge and using it to trigger the ending cutscene. It shows Harlow and the heroes gazing upon Henderson as the ferry takes them across. This ends the quest.
Notes[]
- This quest automatically starts after the screen fades to black at the end of the previous quest. As such, before you finish that quest, complete these things first.
- Turn in any team quests that you can. It'll help with the coming fight.
- Sell off old gear, repair and upgrade your weapons, buy anything new you need and craft throwables if you need them before you start the siege.
- Lace the area at the entrances of the ferry station with mines. This will help take out some of the first wave.
- The zombies will appear as skulls on the minimap, so you can keep better track of them.
- This is the first time the Hero is introduced to a Screamer.
- Only use the miniguns on the boss zombies and special infected. They have limited ammo and overheat quickly. Fire them in short bursts.
- Keep some ammo for the miniguns for when the Screamer arrives. They'll be very useful for dealing with it.
