Sylvia's father is a character in Dead Island: Riptide. He and his wife were in their house when the zombie outbreak ravaged the city of Henderson. Unfortunately, zombies broke into the apartment, and in their attempts to escape, they set their kitchen on fire and they succumbed to smoke inhalation. His daughter Sylvia, who lived in her own apartment, was able to safely evacuate to the Makeshift Hospital at the Henderson Hostel.
