The Stun Gun is a type of firearm featured in Dead Island: Riptide. It can be given as a Quest reward, sold by certain Merchants and found in Metal chests or on killed Zombies.
Overview[]
The Stun Gun is a strange firearm to have, as well as being one of the rarer ones. It's the shortest range firearm in the game, needing to be near point blank range to hit. It does little damage upon hitting an enemy, but instead will cause electrical damage over time, much like how the Flare Gun works to cause fire damage over time. It's got a relatively slow fire rate and only hold 5 shots in the magazine before needing to reload. The big drawback of this weapon is that while it can be upgraded, it can't accept any weapon mods, limiting its potential. It also requires its own ammo, Stun Gun Cartridges, which can't be crafted or spawn naturally.

- Dr. Kessler gives one as a reward for completing his main quest Dr Kessler. Completing his later continuous quest will provide ammo for it as well.
- Certain merchants can sell Stun Guns:
- It can be bought, along with ammo, from Makayla in Halai Village. It will not show up if you do not have the Survivor Pack DLC or are playing the Definitive Edition.
- Pierre at his Magasin will sell one after completing his side quest Fire Sale.
- Sean will sell a stun gun after completing his side quest ER, when he becomes a merchant.
- Nora at the Henderson Military Base in Henderson can sell one after she appears following the main quest Militarized Zone.
- Alex in Henderson can also sell one after completing his rescue quest Rescue Alex.
Trivia[]
- The Stun Gun is much like the Stun Gun crafted from a mod in Ryder White's Campaign.
- It is, however, far more effective, capable of killing zombies in just a few shots, something the DLC version is unable to do.
- In the Definitive Edition, it shares the same model as the one in the DLC.
