Stanley is a survivor located at Kingston's Shack, later Halai Village, in the Flooded Jungle and featured in Dead Island: Riptide. He is first met by the heroes at Kingston's Shack in the Breri Outpost. He then joins the group of survivors in Halai Village and becomes a part of a group of survivors led by Jackson.
Background[]
Stanley was on vacation from work and was exploring the jungle. He and a group of tourists were exploring the Flooded Jungle when the zombie outbreak occurred. He wasn't aware of the zombie outbreak until their group was attacked by the zombies surrounding them, and killed them, while some turned into zombies and tried to attack him. He managed to escape, but the zombies chased him. Then he spotted Kingston's Shack, and he saw a ladder leading to the top and climbed it, knowing the zombies wouldn't be able to reach him. While safe, Stanley realized that he was trapped as the zombies surrounded him. He began shouting for help, hoping that someone still alive would hear his pleas.
He got increasingly worried as he saw the Flooded Jungle being flooded by the monsoon, and the number of zombies increased.
Stanley eventually spots the Heroes and calls out to them. As soon as the Hero spots Stanley, they start the Civilian Rescue quest, Rescue Stanley. Once the zombies are dead, Stanley comments on their skills and wishes that he could fight like them, and calls them up. He says that he thought the zombies were gonna get him and gives the heroes cash as a reward. He then moves to a side and rests for a while, and then leaves the area to find a safe place.
He eventually leaves the shack, knowing it's not safe, and he heads to Halai Village, but he realizes that it's full of zombies, and then he spots the workshop of Halai Village and sees Jackson. He goes to Jackson and explains his situation and tells him that he wants to join his survivors group. Jackson allows him inside, and he becomes a member of their survivors group. He goes to the second floor and stays there watching around the area.
Appearance[]
Stanley is a middle-aged man with a brown/gray beard and moustache. He wears a pink patterned shirt, beige shorts held by a black belt, white socks, and brown boots. He also wears a blue baseball cap, a bandage on his right wrist, a gold watch on his left wrist, a string necklace, and a brown satchel bag against his left thigh.

- If the heroes leave and later return to the location, Stanley will be gone, and a Thug can be found in the water in front of Kingston's Shack.
