The Sickle is a sharp melee weapon featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. It can be give out as a Quest reward, sold by various Merchants and found in Metal chests or on killed Zombies.
Overview[]
The sickle is an interesting melee weapon with good damage and handling but pretty poor in the rest of the stats. It has very good damage, higher than a Machete but lower than a true sword like a Katana or Chinese War Sword. It has very low force and durability, about the same range as the Knife, requiring constant maintenance at a workbench. Sickles are best used for fighting individual or small groups of zombies such as Walkers. However, they seem to have a very high headshot multiplier of some kind as it's quite easy to decapitate Walkers and Infected, making it a very powerful weapon against basic enemies. However, while they offer decently high damage, due to their short range, they are not advised to be used against special infected.

- Wayne at the Lifeguard Tower in the Resort can sell one.
- Rodrigue at Saint Christopher's Church can sell one.
- Both Eric Cotner and Cahaya Dian in Moresby can also sell them.
- Wes Tweddle in the Bloodbath Arena lobby can sell one.
- In Riptide, Zoey can sell a Sickle depending on how many levels of her Team Quest Best Merchandise for Zoey have been completed.
- In Riptide, Batram in Mataka Village can also sell a Sickle before he disappears.
- The sickle is also one of the most common items sold by merchants in the game.
- Sickles are known to have one of the lowest durabilities out of all of the weapons.
