Shit Hits the Fan is the third story quest of the SoLA DLC for Dead Island 2.
Synopsis[]
Find a way to the SoLA Main Stage to investigate The Beat.
Walkthrough[]
- Head through the fancy Eco Village to the Main Stage
- Exit Grace's Compound and jump over the fence gate directly facing the Eco Village.
- Cross the open grass to the wooden entrance building of the village. Enter through the door on the left, as the right gate is locked out. Look through the booth window to find a button to open the door out, into the main village area.
- A worn light green grass path leads you through the various yurts of the Eco Village. You can follow it all the way down to the exit of the village.
- A gate blocks the way through, along with various zombies and a Whipper. Kill the zombies, then open the gate to enter the Eco Village VIP area.
- Head forwards towards a crashed blimp, whose propeller is still spinning. A Runner will be killed by the blade, indicating that you can also use it as an offensive hazard.
- Mince 'em all!
- You will be bombarded with several waves of zombies, however the progression counter for the objective will only count if you get zombies killed via the blade. Killing them with anything else, including melee weapons, firearms, or Curveballs.
- Drop Kick and Flying Kick are you best friends for this objective, though low damage explosive curveballs can also knock zombies into the blade. To conserve Stamina, try and gather a group of zombies before trying to kick them into the blade.
- Bursters will start to spawn, and their explosions can knock zombies into the pull of the blade. Kicking them into the blade themselves still counts to the objective.
- You can get quite close to the blade, but if you touch it you will die, so watch where you are dodging and moving to avoid this.
- As you kill more zombies with the blade, you will notice it getting more unstable and sparking more. Keep kicking zombies into it until it explodes. The explosion will kill the rest of the zombies still spawned in.
- Head inside the newly redecorated marquee
- Use the red button on the shutter to start a cutscene. The Slayer walks up and presses the button, but the shutter doesn't open. The pool of blood and meat behind them starts bubbling, and assembles itself into a creature behind the Slayer as they open the shutter manually. Just dodging an attack, they slide away and get ready to fight the new zombie. Something called "The Dirge" speaks to the Slayer and then creates two more copies of itself out of the mass before disappearing into it itself.
- Kill the Gruesome Twosome!
- These new zombies are called Clotters, and they take no bleed damage and reduced shock damage, as well as 50% less projectile damage, so the Puncturator Mod is useless and the Electrocutor Mod is less effective. Firearms are also pretty useless in this fight as well. Try to take them one at a time, and avoid getting them together.
- They will spawn additional zombies in the form of Runners while you fight them, which can be annoying, however the Bait Bomb is very useful to distract and take them out.
- The Clotter has an ability to shoot out a stream of blood which will both damage and cause bleed, so run away from the beam when you see it shooting. You can, however, use that time to get an attack or two in.
- Clotters can also effectively "teleport" by deconstructing themselves and manifesting somewhere else. This will remove any harmful status effects from them, so be warned.
- Once they are dead, you are free to proceed into the Eco Lounge. This will end the quest.
Trivia[]
- The name is a reference to the idiom of the same name.
