The Shark Mod is a weapon modification featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. It is only applicable to a small, select few heavy, two handed blunt weapons and it increases their critical hit chance and critical hit damage.

In Dead Island, the mod is given by Carter at the River Village for completing his side quest Death Wish.
In Dead Island: Riptide, the mod is found in the storeroom/workshop at Mataka Village on a metal shelf near the double doors, accessible during the side quest Electrifying.

Despite the modded weapon featuring blades on the ends of the weapon, it deals no bleed damage and can't cause the bleed effect.
It's not known why the mod description was changed for Dead Island: Riptide.
