A wall safe in the Laboratory
Safes are rare lootable containers featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. They are containers that often give out large sums of cash and are some of the most reliable ways to obtain large amounts of money quickly.
Appearance[]
Safes appear as small metal cubes with a lock on the front. The box itself is grey, metallic with very little detail of note. However, the front of safes have a keypad on them. This keypad is a standard 0-9 keypad with a digital display and handle next to it. When the safe is open you can see the locking rods on the sides of the door.
Locations[]
Dead Island[]
- A wall safe is located in Bungalow 17, available after completing the side quest Hit and Run, though it is not lootable.
- A wall safe is located in Hotel Bungalow 14, accessible after the side quest Gold Digger.
- A wall safe is located in an office in the Supermarket.
- One can be found upon your return to Town Hall in the main quest Bitter Return, behind Mayor Todd Tanis' desk.
- 3 are found in various places in the Laboratory, as well as an inaccessible wall safe just before Dr West's lab.
- Another 3 are found in the workshop/warehouse complex behind the main lab building.
Dead Island: Riptide[]
- One is found in the Old Town Cinema in Henderson.
- Some are found in the Bank of Henderson during the side quest Perfect Plan, though after the quest is complete they are inaccessible.
- At the end of this side quest, you find another safe in the back of a pick up near the gas works at the Pinai Ferry Station, after killing the two punks there. Unlike the ones in the bank, this one respawns so you can continuously loot it.
Notes[]
- You can occasionally find a random mod item in a safe instead of cash, such as deodorant, but this is very rare.
- It is possible for a safe to not contain anything when looted, like all other containers.
- Wall safes are usually hidden behind a painting, so if you enter a room which seems useless, check the paintings to see if they can be moved.
