Ryan is a survivor found in Dead Island: Riptide. Ryan can be found just outside his apartment in west Henderson south of the Old Town Cinema and next to the Church of Henderson. When approaching Ryan's location, he will be calling out for help (albeit almost inaudibly, as he is extremely weak). After talking with Ryan, the Heroes discover he suffers from MS and has been outside of his apartment for days after barricading it when his neighbors turned into zombies. He gives them the side quest On the Edge, in which the Hero must enter Ryan's apartment, find his meds, and return them to him. After finding the meds, they return to Ryan who is slumped over in the same position. When approached, however. he will attack the Hero as he has since died (likely from a combination of exposure and his medical condition) and turned into a Walker.
Appearance[]
Ryan is an older man with balding brown hair and a clean shaven face. He wears a red and white checkered shirt, tan slacks held by a brown belt, and brown dress shoes. He also has several dirty bandages wrapped around his right arm. In the Definitive Edition, his skin is lighter and his shirt is purple checkered.
