I was staying in the Diamond Bungalows and made a run for it. I didn't get too damn far as you can see. Here. Take this key. If you have the guts to go to my bungalow, everything there is yours for the taking. You earned it.
— Richard, rewarding the Hero with the keys to his house.

Richard Case is a survivor found in the Resort and featured in Dead Island. He is located in the Diamond Beach area. While exploring the Resort, upon entering a building, usually a Safe House, the Hero may catch a distress message from Richard Case. He says he's trapped in a lifeguard booth on the beach, though which one it is he doesn't say. However. he is found in a lifeguard booth in the Diamond Beach area, close to the coast, under siege by some Walkers. After being saved, he thanks the heroes profusely before giving them the keys to his house, triggering the side quest House Full of Surprises. He then remains in the lifeguard booth until the heroes leave. If they returns to the lifeguard booth later on, Richard will have already left. Then he leaves the booth and likely flees to a safe place.

Appearance[]

Richard is a middle aged man with black hair and a clean shaven face. Like most male survivors in the Resort, Richard wears a pair of swimming trunks with no shoes or other clothing. The swimming trunks are blue and white. He also wears a green and orange watch on his right wrist and a binoculars case around his neck.

Radio message[]

Hello, if anyone can hear me, I'm trapped in a lifeguard booth by the beach. I'm surrounded by the infected and they are clawing to get in. I need help! If someone can hear me! Please hurry!

Notes[]

  • Richard does not spawn until the heroes hear his distress call on the radio. This is a trigger for him to spawn in along with the Walkers sieging him. If the player goes to the booth before hearing the call, he will be absent along with the zombies.
  • Upon returning to the booth after saving him, there is a good chance a Thug will have spawned in front of the ramp up to the booth.
