Pathfinders is an easy difficulty main quest given to the Heroes by Harlow Jordan in Dead Island: Riptide.
Synopsis[]
The hero must use the newly acquired boat to find a way to Henderson.
Walkthrough[]
- The quest automatically starts when the hero contacts Harlow at the end of the previous quest via radio.
- She suggests trying to find a way to Henderson via the boat, but also asks you to check the wooden bridge which leads out of the jungle. If it's ok, then the group will use it to drive to Henderson.
- Get into the boat and use the engine to start it up.
- It controls like a normal vehicle, so it's not too hard to adjust to controlling it. You have a speed boost to run over zombies while you travel, use it to your advantage.
- Anyway, use the boat to travel to the top right corner of the waterways, which is basically a long C shape around a small peninsular of land. When you arrive at a beach, gently beech the boat to stop it drifting away and get out.
- Kill the zombies nearby, then head up the beach to reach the road.
- There's some Infected here, as well as Walkers, so clear the area first, then proceed up the road, continuing up the hill.
- You'll reach a crossroads around five seconds up the road. In front of you is the bridge, to the left is a jeep and the biosphere while to the right is a path up to the Moazik Shrine.
- Go up the road and get onto the bridge. A cutscene will play, which pans over the distant Henderson and the Destroyed Road. Looks like you can't go that way.
- The hero contacts Harlow again and she tells you to go to Halai Village again and ask the survivors there if there's another way to Henderson.
- Use the jeep next to you to drive to Halai Village again. As before, there's several ways to get to the survivors. The route I normally take is to stop on the bridge and use the stairs to get directly to the survivors, however if you have another way then by all means take it.
- However you get into the village, the survivors are near the centre in the boat workshop. As before, walk up to the gate where Jackson is. This will complete this quest and automatically start the next one, Saving Holy Man.
Notes[]
- The boat is a dangerous vehicle to take as Drowners will wake up and sprint at you, pulling you off the boat if you don't kick them off with a quick time event. Pay careful attention when piloting the boat and either ram them or avoid them whenever you can.
- The area where the bridge is does not require the boat to access. There is a road leading there, although it's a little flooded and destroyed, however you can still use this road to drive.
- The player actually doesn't have to go to Halai to ask for a boat. You can go straight to Marik's Marina without having to talk to Jackson. This doesn't change how the rest of the mission is played and the mission will play on as if the player did visit Halai and talk to Jackson.
