As soon as Moke saw it, he knew that he had hit the jackpot. He didn't know anything about chemistry, or science in general, but he knew people would pay a small fortune for the canisters from the tunnels. So the canisters leaked a bit and some of the chemicals got onto his skin, but so what. What were some minor burns when compared to the riches that were about to be his...
Dr. Kessler's Casebook

Ogio "Blindspot" Moke is a Boss Zombie featured in Dead Island: Riptide.

Ogio is a scavenger who found the canisters of chemicals in the Japanese Tunnels. Blinded by profits from selling them, he didn't care about the possible health implications after a few drops splashed onto him from a few open barrels. When he was bitten during the outbreak, he turned into a tall toxic Infected as a result of his exposure.

Appearance[]

Ogio is an older bald man with a clean shaven face. He wears a white t-shirt with the sleeves torn off, blue shorts held by a black belt, dirty white socks, and light brown hiking boots. He also has a pale green waist bag held by a small light brown belt, two pale green pouches on either thigh, and a bandage on his left wrist. There are open sores all over his arms and legs, possibly caused by the chemicals.

Behavior[]

When idle, he'll occasionally roam around, pacing impatiently. He might also let out a scream before pacing around some more. He stands hunched over with his hands like claws in front of him, nervously twitching and moving his head around to look for prey. Upon spotting a survivor, he'll let out a scream and sprint directly at the survivor before beating them down with his fast and powerful fist attacks. He runs quicker than a person, so there's no getting away if you're spotted out in the open.

Strategy and tips[]

  • Try to keep at range, as he regenerates health on every successful hit he gets on you.
  • The toxic cloud he has around him will also mess up your aiming, causing you to likely miss any shots you try and get off, so stay away.
  • Fire weapons work best on him. One hit from a flame weapon will cause massive residual burn damage, often killing him in one hit.
  • Molotov cocktails are a good source of fire to deal with him. A single good throw with one will likely kill him from the fire.
  • If you don't have one, the flare gun that Trevor Rogers gives you will also work wonders on him, as it sets anything it hits on fire.
  • If fire isn't possible, use an electric modded weapon to try and crit him. If you do, he'll stop attacking while flailing around being electrocuted. This will let you get off some free hits on him.
  • If it helps, clear out the other zombies around him, so you only have to worry about a 1v1 with him rather than being attacked from multiple angles by multiple zombies.

Trivia[]

  • According to Dr. Kessler's casebook, Ogio discovered the mystery of the chemicals at the Tunnels. Unfortunately, he became intoxicated with the chemicals and later turned into a zombie.
  • He is one of 13 boss zombies you need to kill for the achievement/trophy "Hunter Seeker".
