Natural Resources is a medium difficulty main quest given to the Hero by Hadisi in Dead Island: Riptide.

Synopsis[]

The Hero has to find three Cinchona tree bark to help cure Hadisi's ill brother, otherwise he won't let you into the house.

Tasks[]

  • Talk to Hadisi
  • Hadisi's brother Seni is deathly ill and he won't let you into the house unless you help cure him.
  • Reluctantly the hero agrees and radio's Dr. Hanson. She diagnoses it as the early stages of Malaria. Unfortunately she lost all her medical supplies in the monsoon but there is a local tree who's bark is able to cure it.
  • The first bark is located in a pseudo-dead zone. While it doesn't hold a named boss, there's still a lot of zombies in it, including Walkers, Infected and even a Thug.
  • It's located on the beach where you left the boat during the main quest Pathfinders, inside a cave.
  • Head to the cave, ready a good weapon and have some medkits ready as well.
  • Kill all the zombies in the cave, loot it for all the supplies and take the tree bark from a bowl at the rear of the cave on a shrine.
  • Exit the cave and head up the beach to the road. There's Infected and Walkers here, so kill them all, then head down the road. Don't go towards the destroyed bridge again, instead take the right and go down to the Hoyahoya Bar for the next bark.
  • There's only some Walkers and one or two lone Infected here, so kill them all as usual then take the rough trail opposite the bar. You'll get to a small clearing with some woven baskets. The bark is in a bowl amongst them.
  • Return to the road and go up to the destroyed bridge. To the right is a trail. This trail leads to the Moazik Shrine and this is where the last bark is located. There's often Infected, Walkers and a Thug here, as well as possibly a Suicider.
  • Kill all the zombies here and take the bark from the bowl on the main shrine mantle.
  • Once you have all three bark pieces, return to the beach and take the boat back to Hadisi.
  • He is sceptical at the usage of the bark, but agrees to let you into the bark to talk to his father Batram.
  • He to is sceptical, but agrees to try it. He lets you search the house for Marcus' things. This will complete the quest.

Notes[]

  • Having a fire weapon is useful for the cave where the first bark is located. The boss in there, as well as a lot of the Infected, are all toxic. A fire weapon can easily one hit kill them.
    • The same as a molotov, so if you have one or two handy, now is a good time to use them.
  • The cave contains two metal chests at the back where the bark is. Loot them for weapons before you leave.
  • There's a workbench at the back of the house where Hadisi is located.
  • If you don't want to take the boat, you can always fast travel to Paradise Survival Camp and take the car there. You can still access the bark locations and you can also fast travel back to Mataka Village.
