Mods are a gameplay mechanic featured in Dead Island 2. Similar to previous games, mods are used to modify a weapon by increasing their damage and applying a special effect. This is done by interacting with a workbench and having the required for fabrication. Weapons can then be modified further by Perks.
The game features six available mods. Each mod has melee and ranged version and has three rarities: Uncommon, Rare, and Superior.
