The Metro Engineer is a named Mutator found within The Metro in Dead Island 2, and is encountered during the main quest The End of the Line. He drops the Maintenance Area Key when he is killed, in which the player may use to progress further during the quest.

Notes

• It is extremely difficult to kill the Metro Engineer in its walker form. At level 29, his walker form has ~45577 HP. In comparison a normal level 30 Mutator in its walker form has only 9000 HP. To make matters worse, the Metro Engineer will immediately transform if the Screamer in the same areas starts to scream.
  • The best way to kill the Metro Engineer in his walker form is to attack him in Fury Mode with Pummel and Carnage equipped. This way you can throw him quickly on the floor with the large amount of force, after which a head stomp will finish him off.
