Message to the Masses is a medium difficulty side quest given to the Hero by Hugo in Dead Island.
Synopsis[]
The Hero must bring a recording to a man named Garett Grant. This leads to you getting the Cerberus Heads chain of side quests.
Walkthrough[]
- Talk to Hugo to start the quest.
- He wants you to take a recording to a man named Garett Grant for Mother Helen. The recording will help other survivors know that they can be safe in the Church.
- The fastest way to do this is to fast travel to the Warehouse and go from there.
- If you haven't yet unlocked the Warehouse, head out of the Church and go to the car park in front of it. Facing away from the Church, head to the left and follow the road to take the first right. Follow the road up the hill to reach a crashed bus next to a pharmacy at a T-junction. Head right at the T-junction and the Warehouse is on your left at the bottom of the hill.
- Head down the road that travels parallel to the Warehouse and follow it to the end. It turns right and then go to the end to turn left with it. Don't take the first left where the quest Survivor is located, as it's a dead end. Take the second left instead.
- Follow it to the end of the road and go off the road, down the hill. You'll see another road down the slope. Head to that.
- Once you're on the road, look to your left and you'll see a yellow box van with a load of Walkers around it. Run over to it and jump on top of it to have a breather. There's also often a Ram here, so be careful in this area. You're now close to where Garett is located.
- Look to the end of the road and you'll see two Walkers bashing on a fence. Behind here is where Garett is located.
- Kill all the zombies around you, including the Ram.
- You can use the dumpster and crates up against the wall to jump over into Garett's building.
- Head inside the building and talk to Garett to finish this quest and start Garett's chain of quests.

"To all survivors!!! We offer sanctuary in the Church. If you can hear me, please come. There is safety in numbers and the Lord will protect you."
Notes[]
- You'll find two Rams on your way. One is located just past the Warehouse while the other is just outside of Garett's house.
- If you attract an Infected over to the dumpsters you use to hop over the wall to get to Garett's house, the Infected can actually climb up after you and also get over the wall.
- Because this area doesn't count as a safehouse, the Infected will not loose interest if you lure them in. You will have to deal with them.
- Garett will not be injured, however, as it's not an escort quest so the NPC is fine.
- There's a metal chest inside the house with Garett which regularly gives out good quality weapons when you check it.
- There's also a workbench next to the yellow box van on the road adjacent to Garett's house for you to repair your weapons at.
- For whatever reason, you will not recieve the rewards for this quest until you finish the side quest The Third Head of Cerberus.
