M60 is a cut firearm found within Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. It is within the game files yet does not spawn anywhere--probably due to its base attributes and overpowered nature.
Overview[]
In a vanilla, unmodded game of Dead Island, it is impossible to obtain the M60, however should you use a save editor or some other cheat software, it is possible to obtain the M60. Upon equipping the M60, the firearm is invisible in the hands, though will allow you to 'aim', which only serves to zoom in slightly. The M60 has a high damage output and a moderately high rate of fire, faster than pistols but slower than an Auto Rifle. Having no weapon model does make aiming the gun with any accuracy a challenge, but if you manage to hit a Walker or other such Zombie, it will often one shot kill them.
In Dead Island: Riptide, however, it is visible in vanilla game format without any additional DLCs installed. However, it is still similarly unobtainable by normal means. Should you manage to get one, however, it offers an incredibly high rate of fire, unlike any other gun in the game. There are no sights to the gun, as aiming will only zoom in your screen, but it now has the model of an ordinary pistol and has a very high damage output. Due to its greatly increased fire rate and damage, very little can stand in the way of the M60, though it does mean it blows through ammo very quickly.

Notes[]
In the Arena Mode, sound queues for the gun can be heard when firing, similiar to a chain gun.
A rendered model can be seen only in Arena Mode (this is only seen in co op and the second player has the weapon equipped), though in the form of their character model having their arms backwards and phasing through their chest.
In Dead Island: Riptide, the default render model is a standard pistol. A full modified M60 will have a very fast fire rate, similiar to a minigun.
