Life in the Bag is a medium difficulty side quest given to the Hero by Jack in Dead Island.
Synopsis[]
After completing the quest Bloody Health Service!, the Hero is asked by Jack to search for a paramedic's bag, which can be found in an ambulance or a lifeguard vehicle.
Walkthrough[]
- Talk to Jack to start the quest.
- He'll express concern and anger that there's nothing in regards to medical items in the first aid room of the Lifeguard Tower. He asks you to go find one urgently as Anne is in a critical condition.
- Head out of the Lifeguard Tower and follow the main road until you reach a multi car pile up.
- On the way, you'll run into some Walkers, so kill them and proceed to the pile up.
- When you reach the pile up, you'll find an ambulance truck near the front of it, surrounded by several Walkers and an Infected which will spot you.
- Kill the Infected first before dealing with the Walkers. Try to take them out one by one and try not to get swarmed, as at a low level you can easily die to a few of them.
- After killing all the zombies there, including a few playing dead on the ground that will try to jump up at you when you get close, look in the back of the ambulance truck to find the medical supplies.
- Return to Jack at the Lifeguard Tower and hand them over to complete the quest.
Notes[]
- It is convenient to look for the bag when looking for the car parts that Hank needs to complete his side quest Lazarus Rising.
- When this quest is completed, Anne will disappear from the infirmary, but you can still hear her coughing. This is likely a bug or oversight by the devs who didn't remove her sounds after she dies.
- One of the best approaches is through the Golden Bungalows as the Walkers can be lead away from the others and engaged one or two at a time.
- An alternate method to take out the enemies safely is to jump onto the bonnet of the ambulance and then onto the cab roof. The zombies will struggle to hit you and will often just stand there with their arms raised at you. If you have a long weapon like a baseball bat, you can hit them without risk of them hitting you back.
- The back of the ambulance also has a lockpick 3 metal chest, which can contain a good quality weapon. Be sure to come back and loot it if you can't already.
