Laurie Weaver is a survivor featured in Dead Island.
Background[]
In the side quest Crash, the Hero finds Laurie panicking at the side of the road, just outside the Jungle tunnel. Upon approaching her, Laurie explains that she and her husband, Linwood, were driving to the Lifeguard Tower when something jumped on their car and they crashed their car. Laurie was able to get free, but Linwood has become trapped inside the upside-down car. The Hero must wrench the door open and protect the vehicle from the attacking Infected.[2] Upon freeing her husband, Laurie thanks the Hero profusely and tells them they can take anything from the car boot.[3] She and her husband remain at the crash site for a short while, then they likely flee the area and go to a safe place after the Hero leaves
Appearance[]
Laurie is a young woman with short blonde hair. Like most female survivors in the Resort, she wears a bikini with no shoes or other clothing. The bikini is orange and black with a tiger stripe design. She also wears a bead necklace, a fitness tracker on her upper left arm, and a bandage on her left wrist.[4] In the Definitive Edition, her hair is brown.[5]
Trivia[]
- Oddly, Laurie refers to her husband as "John," despite his name being Linwood.[6] This is most likely an error made while recording her lines.
- Laurie mentions that she was on her way to the lifeguard tower with Linwood.[7] After the heroes help them, they are not seen again and do not show up at the lifeguard tower. It's possible that they both died while trying to get there on foot or found another place to stay at.
