The Kukri is a variant of the Machete featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. It can be given as a Quest reward, purchased from certain Merchants or found randomly in Metal chests or on killed Zombies.

- Various merchants can sell Kukris:
- Wes Tweddle at the Bloodbath Arena lobby can sell a Kukri.
- Keenan Fisher at the River Village will sell one after getting his stock back at the end of the main quest Chasing Shadows.
- Dwight Turner at the Overpass Camp can also sell one after completing his side quest Visit to the Pub.
- Michael Stick in the Mingende Jungle can also sell one.
- Joel Dirt at the lab can sell one.
- Jeremy in the Prison Canteen will also sell one.
- Zoey in Riptide can sell one after completing a couple of levels of her Team Quest Best Merchandise for Zoey.
- Alex in Henderson in Riptide can also sell one after completing his rescue quest Rescue Alex.
- When at a workbench, it can be listed as a regular Machete instead of Kukri.
