The Jungle Tunnel is a location featured in Dead Island. It is located not far from the Royal Palms Resort and allowed vehicles to travel between the Resort and Jungle. The tunnel is largely ignored until the very end of Act II, during the main quest Devastator, when the heroes are looking for a way to the jungle. The tunnel is blocked but Jin knows a way to get to it through one of the old WWII Japanese bunkers. Using the armoured truck, they stop at the blocked tunnel and proceed on foot to the bunker. The truck remains in front of the tunnel in the Resort until the end of the game.

Layout[]

Much like the City Tunnel, the front of the tunnel is not much to look at. It's made of solid, bland concrete with some overhead fog lights to light up the tunnel entrance in the dark. However, unlike the city tunnel, this one does not have a stage walkway above it. Inside the tunnel, the way is completely blocked. Unlike the city tunnel, which was only blocked by a couple of coaches, the jungle tunnel has had a complete ceiling cave in, blocking the road completely with many hundreds of tones of rock, preventing anything from getting through whether it's a vehicle or person on foot. Near the entrance of the tunnel is a fast travel map and door which takes you to the lobby of the Bloodbath Arena if the DLC is installed or if playing the Game of the Year edition/Definitive Edition.

Notes[]

  • There's not a single piece of loot to be found at the tunnel. Not even a health item like an energy drink can be found.
  • The fast travel map only unlocks as a destination after completing Act III and arriving in the jungle. If travelling to the tunnel prior to this, the map can be used to travel away from the tunnel, but not to it.
  • You can find Laurie Weaver shouting for help not far from the tunnel, giving the side quest Crash.
