Joel "Blackheart" Chubalba is a Boss Zombie featured in Dead Island: Riptide. He's found in the hotel he was staying at when the Kuru virus reached Palanai Island.
Joel was the lead vocalist for "Day of Mutants", a power metal band. He had to deal with Scandinavian band-mates who disliked Palanai's tropical weather and press, but his biggest fear was losing his voice. After he became an Infected, his screams carried far and wide.

Joel is a middle aged man with short black hair and slight stubble. He wears a pair of ocean blue shorts, a brown belt, and white socks with no shirt or shoes. His shorts are slightly sagging, exposing the orange band of his underwear. He also wears three gold necklaces, bloody bandages around both of his wrists, and a tan waist bag hanging off his right thigh held by a brown belt.
