Jayden is one of the two special named zombies found at the Pinai Ferry Station during the main quest The Crossing in Dead Island: Riptide. It's not known what Jayden did before the outbreak, but he could have been a mechanic or similar worker for the ferry station before being infected, as he break out from one of the warehouses.
Overview[]
Like Mr. Dead, Kayden is a pseudo boss zombie of sorts. He's essentially a larger Infected who has a lot more health, similar or higher than a Thug, much like the Infected Warrior from the original Dead Island. He's originally locked inside a warehouse next to the ferry terminal, but going far enough away or to a certain trigger point will allow him to break out of the door and out into the open, along with several other zombies who were trapped in there with him. He's pretty difficult/impossible to not fight as there are multiple ways that he can be broken out unknowingly.

Jayden has a randomized male Infected model.
Tips[]
- You have the luxury of being able to set up for this fight, so the easiest way to kill him instantly is to place down several mines in the middle of the floor near the doorway to the warehouse he is being held in. When one of the triggers to release him is activated, he will charge out right into the mines, killing him instantly if you use enough of them.
- Alternatively, if you're out of mines, climb up to the sniper perch that's a short distance away. It's a pick up truck that's stuck on a billboard next to the terminal. You can use a ladder at the back of the billboard to climb up to the truck.
- There's a Sniper Rifle here that you get for free, as well as several spare boxes of rifle ammo. This means you can kill him with just a few headshots from the rifle.
- Failing this, there's several meat baits and Molotovs next to the rifle. First throw a meat bait to get him to stay in one spot, then follow it up by a Molotov. Repeat this a couple of times and he'll go down.
- Despite his high health, he is a toxic infected, so fire weapons are very effective against him.
- Using a flare gun is a good way of taking down his health, since a headshot will do some good damage and the fire will be extra effective thanks to his toxic effect.

Trivia[]
- Jayden is the only one of the two twins who does not respawn. After killing Jayden, he does not respawn from the warehouse, likely due to its close proximity to the fast travel map, whereas Kayden is the other side of the map, so he respawns.
- However if you have Multiplayer if a player or friend joins you who hasn't fought Jayden yet he will respawn in the Warehouse but the walkers that were with him won't.
