The Homemade Double Blade is a variant of the Double Blade featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. It can be given out as a Quest reward, sold by a couple of Merchants or found on killed Zombies or in Metal chests.
Overview[]
As both a sharp and homemade weapon, the Homemade Double Blade leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to stats, even against other Homemade or basic weapons. The weapon has low damage numbers, especially for a sharp weapon, and its force is practically non-existent alongside its durability. Countering this, however, the weapon has a low stamina cost and high swing speed, allowing you to easily cut up the lone Walker or two when you encounter them. This fast swing speed doesn't quite made up for its low damage amount, which for a sharp weapon, which usually have higher damage than blunt weapons, is rather underwhelming. To top it all off, the weapon has a very short range, similar to a Homemade Knife or similar short range weapon, meaning you need to get in close in order to be effective, which leaves you vulnerable to being hit back.

- Several merchants can sell homemade double blades:
- Wayne at the Lifeguard Tower in the Resort can sell one.
- Florencio Morales at the Warehouse can sell one after completing his side quest Spicy Drinks.
- Both Cahaya Dian and Kurt Keeble in Moresby can sell them.
- In Riptide, Zoey can sell Homemade Double Blades, however this will change when the first or second level of her Team Quest, Best Merchandise for Zoey, has been completed.
- In Riptide, Rodrigo in Henderson can sell one.
