The Heavy Hammer is a variant of the Hammer and a blunt weapon featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. It can be sold by various Merchants and found in Metal chest or on killed Zombies.
Overview[]
The Heavy Hammer is the only high level one handed hammer you can get past player level 24, so it has to be worth using, you would think. Well, the hammer has medium damage for a blunt one handed weapon, however it has a high to very high force attribute, allowing it to easily break limbs and heads. It also has decently high durability, if not the most for a blunt weapon, though its stamina usage is towards the higher end for a one handed weapon, and its swing speed is relatively slow. However, the damage combined with the force allows it to easily breeze through lone or paired Walkers whilst Infected stand no chance if a connecting headshot is made. The hammer is less suited for taking on larger hordes of Walkers, though the high force does make it good for taking on Thugs and other high health special infected.
