Head Against the Wall is a main quest given to the Hero in Dead Island. The Heroes must investigate the situation in the Town Hall.

Synopsis[]

The hero must look around the Town Hall for the mayor to see if they can spare any food.

Walkthrough[]

  • After exiting from the Sewers, you'll be in the basement of the Town Hall.
  • Head through the door on the right, where the policeman will be very shocked.
  • Wander around the Town Hall, loot the baggage in the courtyard and the metal chest under the table to see if it has anything good.
  • You'll eventually find yourself in the mayor's office, where the Mayor, Todd Tanis, is conferring with someone about their situation.
  • Talk to Todd, who will tell you that he is very busy and they can't spare any food.
  • This will trigger a cutscene where the heroes radio Jin and tell her to get them by the Sewer exit. Jin will refuse and tells them that they're meant to help everyone they can. Since she has the car, she'll do it herself and leave them there. After some back and forth, the heroes eventually agree to help who they can before trying to contact The Voice again.
  • The cutscene will end, you'll regain control deposited in the courtyard and the quest will end.

Notes[]

  • When playing as Sam B, he may mention that it's "Just like back in N'awlins — all about the money."
  • Having the side quest Picture of Bliss active (accepted but not completed) while performing this quest is a good idea. It's one of the very few side quests that will be available if the Hero started in the sewers. This allows the use of the Patch 1.3 smart waypoint system so the player can make the side quest his tracked quest, exit the menu, and then exit the game. When reloaded the Hero will start in the Warehouse/Simon's Hub where items can be bought and sold and it's an easy matter to find some Raskols to kill for more pistol ammunition.

Trivia[]

  • The quest name is likely a reference to the saying 'head against a brick wall', which is a phrase meaning that you're trying something which has no hope of working, hitting your head against a brick wall hoping it will break. In the context of the quest, the heroes (the head) are trying to get the Town Hall to share supplies (the brick wall) and they've fruitlessly battled all the way there to be told that (hitting the head against the wall).
