Harpoon Ammo is a type of special ammo required for the Harpoon. Unlike ammo for conventional firearms (pistols, rifles, etc), you can't look at your inventory or weapon wheel to find out quickly how much you have. Like ammo for the Nail Gun or Harpoon, flare gun ammo is located in a separate part of your inventory, the same as throwables, meaning you need to manually find it yourself to find how much you have. Also like regular ammo, however, there is a maximum to how much you can carry. Like Nail Gun Ammo, this ammo can be collected again after firing, providing you can find where it's gone. It appears as a large, slim metal harpoon, which makes it far easier to find than nail gun ammo. It will stick into whatever wall, floor, ceiling or enemy it hits, so keeping track of where they hit is quite important for finding them again.

- Harpoon Ammo is only found naturally in three locations near the Pinai Ferry Station.
- Trevor Rogers will sell Harpoon Ammo after completing some of his Team Quests, Best Merchandise for Trevor Rogers.
Notes[]
- Harpoon ammo can't appear in any containers or defeated enemies, nor can it be found in metal chests. It has to be either bought or found in its sole spawning place.
- It is the most expensive of all the special ammo, being $450 before discounts are applied.
