Harland's Friend is a survivor featured in Dead Island.
Background[]
Harland's Friend remains nameless and is a large man found in the Canteen of the Prison. He is found by the Heroes lying on the floor of the prison, surrounded by a group of concerned men. He is the focus of the side quest Painful Insanity where Harland asks the Hero to find some thorazine to treat his friend. When the medicine has been retrieved, Harland injects it into his friend and continues to monitor his state, as he remains lying on the floor for the rest of the game. When the canteen is overrun, It's probably that in his weak state due to his illness, he was likely killed and eaten when the zombies overran the area.

Harland's friend is a middle aged man with shaved brown hair and a clean shaven face. He wears an orange prison jumpsuit, a black undershirt, a black belt, and black and white sneakers.
Trivia[]
- He has no dialogue in the game, remaining completely silent.
- Thorazine (more commonly known as chlorpromazine) is a drug that is used to treat people with psychotic disorders.
- This correlates with Harland saying that if his friend didn't get the medicine then "those things outside would be the least of our problems".
