Eduardo "Quickdeath" Petoia is a Boss Zombie featured in Dead Island: Riptide. When the government made the area where he lived a quarantine zone, he and his fellow neighbors tried to get out, but couldn't. They attempted to survive in the quarantine; however, slowly, they were all infected, and Eduardo was soon to join them. When the Heroes arrive, he and his fellow neighbors are all put down.
Appearance[]
Eduardo is a middle-aged man with balding black hair and a clean-shaven face. He wears a bloody light blue t-shirt, gray cargo pants held by a light gray belt, and faded gray hiking boots. He also has a green waist bag hanging off his right hip held by a brown belt. He is a toxic Infected who's as tall as a thug.
Behavior[]
Like a regular Infected, upon spotting you, he will let out a scream before charging at you. Also like a regular Infected, he'll take the most direct route to get to you, likely in a straight line. Upon reaching you, he'll unleash his rapid attacks on you, causing a lot of damage in a short space of time. He uses his arms to beat you down until you die, as, again, like a regular Infected, he won't try and kick out at you or bite you. However, he has the health of a Thug, so he'll take more than one or two hits to go down. Because he's a toxic zombie, he will cause extra toxic damage to you, blurring your vision and messing up your aim while you're still in range of the toxic cloud.
Strategy and Tips[]
- Try to keep at range, as he regenerates health on every successful hit he gets on you.
- The toxic cloud he has around him will also mess up your aiming, causing you to likely miss any shots you try and get off, so stay away.
- Fire weapons work best on him. One hit from a flame weapon will cause massive residual burn damage, often killing him in one hit.
- Molotov cocktails are a good source of fire to deal with him. A single good throw with one will likely kill him from the fire.
- If you don't have one, the flare gun that Trevor gives you will also work wonders on him, as it sets anything it hits on fire.
- If fire isn't possible, use an electric modded weapon to try and crit him. If you do, he'll stop attacking while flailing around, being electrocuted. This will let you get off some free hits on him.
- If it helps, clear out the other zombies around him, so you only have to worry about a 1v1 with him rather than being attacked from multiple angles by multiple zombies.
Notes[]
- Quickdeath will be a "boss" zombie during the main quest House of God, when you need to clear out the Santa Maria Mission, even if you have already killed him in his Dead Zone.
Trivia[]
- He is one of 13 boss zombies you need to kill for the achievement/trophy "Hunter Seeker".
