The Diving Knife is a variant of the Knife featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. They can be sold by some Merchants or found naturally in the world, as well as occasionally being carried by Walkers. It cannot obtain a higher level than player level 24.
Overview[]
The Diving Knife is one of the worst versions of the knife, featuring low damage, practically no force and similarly poor durability. It's on par or possibly even worse than the Homemade Knife due to its low durability and damage, despite being a sharp weapon. Its fast swing speed and relatively low stamina cost partially alleviates its low force and damage stats, but these are immediately nullified by its short range due to being a knife, necessitating you to get within the Zombie's attack range to hit them. Combined with a small selection of applicable mods, the diving knife is a poor choice for a reliable, good weapon choice. It can deal with lone Walkers or Infected, but against larger, tougher enemies such as Thugs or Floaters, the best strategy for using the diving knife is to throw it at the enemy before getting out a better weapon, such as a Baseball Bat or even a Homemade Machete, depending on player level and character.
