Diamonds are a rare miscellaneous item found very rarely as loot, more often being given as a quest rewards in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. Diamonds are used in the creation of the Developer's Craft blueprints, and for this purpose are required in larger quantities, though otherwise they can be sold for an extremely high Cash value to Merchants. They appear as typical diamond gemstones, being relatively large, shiny and reflective.

- A diamond is given for completing the main quest Born to be Wild.
- Svetlana will give out 1 diamond for every bottle of Brand Champagne you bring her for her continuous quest Time for Booze.
- A diamond is frequently found in the safe under Todd Tanis's desk in the Town Hall.
- They rarely appear in other safes instead of cash.
- In Riptide, two can be found in the Old Town Cinema in Henderson. One at the back of the theatre on the back row and another next to the Cash Register at the bar.
- One is found next to one of the outside tables for the café at the Henderson Ferry Station.
- The balcony next to Eddie the Zombienator has a diamond on the back of the room, next to the Workbench.
- A bar near the Infested Depot dead zone, behind the counter.
- On a small table near the Quarantine Zone, next to the yellow bulldozer.
- Behind the concert area nearby the workbench.
Uses[]
- Used to create Developer No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, and No. 666 Crafts.
- In Riptide, they can be traded to Jorge Tesoro in his workshop in Henderson for his continuous quest A Collector, yielding a higher cash value than just selling them to a merchant.
Notes[]
- In Dead Island, a diamond can be sold at a merchant for $1500, making them a good source of getting money quickly, especially if you are able to trade a lot of Brand Champagne to Svetlana.
- In Riptide, they are worth far less at just $991, however they are still the most valuable mod item to sell.
- There's a very fast way to get an unlimited amount of Diamonds during the main quest Bitter Return as seen in this video
- The Old Time Cinema is a good way to get infinite diamonds in Dead Island: Riptide. Behind the counter of the bar, a diamond is found next to the cash register, and another diamond is found in the last row of chairs at the back of the cinema room. Afterwards, simply Fast Travel in and out of the Henderson and back to the Cinema to respawn the diamonds. This is a good way to gain money and XP from Jorge.
