Dave is a survivor featured in Dead Island: Riptide. He is first met by the Heroes in Mataka Village, where he introduces himself as a movie director, and tasks the heroes with retrieving his video camera and camera battery from the zombie-infested movie set, giving the side quest Genre: Horror Slasher. He is later encountered again in Halai Village on the roof of a building with his camera set up to finish his movie, where the hero must kill a Thug while Dave films the act in order to save the ending to his movie, giving the side quest On the Set. Dave disappears after this with no more quests, leaving his ultimate fate unknown.
Appearance[]
Dave is a man in his early thirties, with brown hair and a full beard. He wears a dirty white button-up shirt, black trousers held by a black belt that has a few small pouches attached to it, and light gray boots. He also wears a gold watch on his left wrist. There's a black binocular pouch hanging around his neck when you first meet him, but it is gone when you find him again in Halai.
Personality[]
Dave is dedicated to his movie, excited for the return of his camera, and the thought of finishing his movie. He doesn't seem to grasp the danger of his situation or the meaning of the outbreak on Palanai. He seems not to care about the safety or well-being of anyone other than himself, which is shown when he tasks the heroes to kill a Thug so he can record it, regardless of the danger the heroes are put in. He treats the outbreak like it's one big movie set, with all the zombies being very dedicated actors.

- His side quests can be challenging, especially for low-level, new players, as the first takes place in a dead zone and the other in Halai in an area that constantly spawns Infected. It is advised to use your best weapons and stock up on medkits before starting either of them.
