“Luke... if you can hear me... did you make it to the bungalow? It's #20. Remember... the insulin is... in the bathroom... on the shelf! I need it quick, brother!”
— Danny to Luke, over the radio
Danny Craig is a survivor featured in Dead Island.
Background[]
He is the subject of the quest Too Much Sugar. The Hero can hear him calling over the radio to his brother, Luke Craig. Danny is asking Luke to bring him insulin, and emphasizes that he needs it quickly. While in the Golden Bungalows district, the Hero will find Luke inside bungalow 20. Unfortunately, he has been mortally wounded, and asks the Hero to bring his brother the insulin. Once the Hero reaches Danny at Bungalow 14, Danny says he will wait until Luke arrives and the drugs kick in. He remains in the bungalow for the rest of the game, presumably waiting for Luke who will never arrive, as he has likely turned into a zombie.
Appearance[]
Danny is a young man with short brown hair and a slight beard. Unlike most male survivors in the Resort, Danny is fully clothed with a patterned red shirt, an off-white undershirt, beige shorts, white socks and white sneakers. He also has a silver watch on his left wrist.
Trivia[]
- Danny suffers from Diabetes mellitus, hence his need for insulin.
- His name and appearance may be a reference to the actor Daniel Craig.
- Danny was originally slated to be a child character, with Luke as his big brother. However, this was cut from the game along with all other mentions/references or appearances of child characters, so he was changed to be an adult.
- The big brother being there for his little brother aspect is used again for Ryan with his brother in Dead Island 2.
- After giving Danny his insulin, he will thank the heroes and mention he'll wait for his brother to return. The heroes never let Danny know about Luke being injured and disappearing.
