Cold Pork is a side quest given to the Slayers by Trent in Dead Island 2.

Synopsis[]

The Blue Crab Grill needs more firepower to defend itself, so the Slayers must find and retrieve some firearms for the group.

Walkthrough[]

  • After saving and unlocked the Blue Crab as a Safe House, talk to Trent by the bar. The Slayer mentions about them needing some more firepower to defend themselves, and Trent answers that firepower would be good. The Slayers then decide to go out hunting for some guns.
  • Exit the Blue Crab and make your way to the beach front. You can go from either exit of the car park, either way works, just make your way to the beach front.
  • After reaching the beach, head to your left, towards a large, round concrete building. This is the LAPD Venice Beach Station, and hopefully where you can find some firearms.
  • There are a lot of undead policemen out the front of the building, including Runners, Walkers and Riot Gear Walkers. A police Burster can also be found, and used as a remote bomb.
  • Several of the police cars have Battery, which can be used to throw at the zombies and electrocute them. It will also disable the car alarm to prevent more zombies being dragged to the scene of the crime.
  • Once all the zombies are dead, head to the front door, which is thankfully unlocked, and go inside the building.
  • Unfortunately, the next door is locked with a maglock. However, it can easily be disabled. The first lock control box is just beyond the front desk, in easy weapon reach for hitting or throwing something at it.
  • The other lock, however, is in the bathroom, and upon opening the door, a Walker will burst out. Kill the Walker, then disable the lock, which allows you to open the door.
  • Go down the corridor and take the door to your immediate left, into the reception. Two Walkers are in here, but they can easily be killed. Collect the Police Dept. Keycard and go back into the corridor, to the room at the end of the jail cells.
  • Unlock the door and go through, into the evidence area. Several more Walkers and a Shambler will be here, but are easily disposed of.
  • The evidence room is right there, behind jail bars and a jail door, but it's unfortunately locked. However, just through the door leading to the rear exit is the evidence room front desk, and sitting on it is the Secure Storage Room Key, which allows access to the cell door.
  • Go into the room and loot it. A small green box is on the floor, labelled guns. Take it and head back outside.
  • Now all that's left is to run back to the Blue Crab. Some of the zombies will have respawned, however if you don't feel like fighting them, you can just run away from them and clamber over the gate into the car park of the Blue Crab.
  • Return to Trent and talk to him. He has no recollection of telling you anything about going to get guns, and when reminded, he tells the Slayers that he doesn't even take himself seriously when he says things. Regardless, though, he states that it's only fair for him to trade you for the guns. This then ends the quest.

Notes[]

  • Jail Cell 02 Key can be found in the reception area, which opens the cell in the corridor next to it. This cell has a Disaster Relief Crate in it, as well as a Walker.
  • A blue 'rare' rarity Assault Shotgun can be found in the evidence room in a gun rack at the back of the room.
