Cliff Calo (Infected)

Cliff Calo (Infected) is a unique boss zombie featured in Escape Dead Island. This is Cliff Calo but as a zombie, conjured up within Cliff's mind. He is encountered at the beginning of the final mission of the game - Deliverance.

Overview[]

Much like Zombie Linda, Zombie Cliff is not real, as such, but made up by Cliff in his insanity. Zombie Cliff is a mash up of various zombie Cliff encountered over his time on Narapela, so he's one of, if not the most dangerous zombie in the game. He's fast, aggressive and can hit from both long and close range. Just like Butchers, Zombie Cliff will regen health if not attacked in quick succession.

Appearance[]

Zombie Cliff, much like Zombie Linda, looks a lot like his human counterpart. He is wearing Cliff's iconic hoodie with the hood up, whereas the real Cliff always had his hood down. He's also wearing the same shorts and shoes as Cliff. However, he's far more zombie looking than the zombie Linda ever did. His sleeves are ripped off, showing his cut and bloody arms, while his eyes are glazed over with blood all around his face and mouth.

Behavior[]

Zombie Cliff is very aggressive, with a ranged spit attack like a Spitter and fast, damaging melee attacks. When not in melee range, he will spit acid globs at Cliff from his mouth, causing constant burn damage. If brought into melee range, he can chase and cut easily, without losing track or distance from his target. If, somehow, he drops behind, he will resume throwing acid at Cliff, meaning he never lets up the attack.

Strategy[]

Zombie Cliff is constantly attacks, there's no cover and no way to break sight contact with him.
The Shotgun or Hellfire Shotgun works well to deal some good damage.
- The Assault Rifle from the Underwater Labs is also excellent at taking out Zombie Cliff. It deals a lot of damage and can rapidly take down his health, despite Zombie Cliff having one of the highest health pools in the game.
If going melee, use the Lever Axe over the Katana, as it deals more damage per hit.
Dodging is key. Zombie Cliff does a lot of damage and attacks rapidly. Dodging out of the way is the best thing to not get hit.
When shot with the shotgun, he staggers backwards, giving the player a few seconds grace. Use this to run away to recover health. When far enough away, zombie Cliff will spit instead. Dodge them to use the time to heal.
Don't bother using the Pistol or Silenced Pistol, as they do very little damage and will just waste time and ammo.
It's impossible to stealth kill him, so don't bother trying.

Damage and Health[]

Infected Cliff has 165 HP and regens 3.2 HP per second when not damaged for a while.
His attacks deal the following damage:
- Hit = 6
- Spit impact (excluding splash) = 3
- Spit splash (also applied on direct impact) = 2
- Spit DOT = 2

Trivia[]

The Zombie Cliff fight is the hardest fight in the game.
Zombie Cliff's appearance does not change if Cliff is wearing different clothes from the DLC.
Although Zombie Cliff is a boss zombie, the Dweller has more health than him.
