Change of Plans is a medium difficulty main quest given to the Hero by Trevor Rogers in Dead Island: Riptide.
Synopsis[]
The hero must defend the Santa Maria Mission while Trevor turns on the pump to reveal the entrance to the Japanese Tunnels.
Walkthrough[]
- Talk to Trevor to start the quest.
- He'll warn you that the pump will be loud so you'll need to defend the area while it's active.
- Trevor then turns on the pump and you'll hear the screams of Infected.
- You have a short window to prepare before a wave of zombies comes at you. It will include Walkers, Infected and possibly some Special Infected.
- Defend as best you can. There's mines in crates and metal barriers scattered around. Your allies will also help defend the area while the pump is active.
- It's only a small attack, as the bar at the top of the screen will show you. Even so, it's a taste of what's to come.
- Once the bar is depleted and the zombies are all dead, the quest will automatically be completed and you can talk to Samuel Hardy to continue.
Notes[]
- Before starting this quest, place down some mines near the entrances. When the zombies attack, they will be thinned out by the mines, making the subsequent fight easier. Your AI allies will not be harmed by the explosions but make sure you don't get caught in the blast as well.
- Also place metal fencing over the entrances as well. It'll help a lot as there's not much time between talking to Trevor and him starting the pump.
- There's plenty of mines around in some wooden crates across the Mission building. Take them and use them if needed. They respawn so don't worry about not getting them again.
- It's only a small attack, but it's a precursor to the main siege event quest that will happen shortly. Expect this but a lot more zombies.
