Cell Block B is a location in the Prison in Dead Island. It is the primary destination for the first part of the main quest Devil's Labyrinth where the Heroes must travel to the cell block to find weapons for the prisoners from the armoury there. After reaching the control room, they are contacted by Ryder White to tell them to leave the prisoners and come to him via the sewers.

Layout[]

The cell block is typical of a prison cell block, being made up of 3 vertical tiers of cells connected by thin, enclosed corridors. These corridors have bars at the side to prevent prisoners jumping off or pushing a guard over the edge. There are walkways across the middle on each tier. The walkways are connected to each floor by metal staircases, which have railings for the guards to shout or shoot over if a riot broke out. Each cell consists of multiple bunk beds, a sink and toilet, as well as a small metal table and a couple of chairs. The ground floor has some larger, communal tables and chairs and a few concrete walls, but there's otherwise nothing else for the prisoners. Overlooking the cell block is the control room, which doubles as a staffroom for guards on breaks. It has a large control panel which controls the cell block, able to lock down the cells automatically and activate riot alarms. The room is nicely furnished, with wood tables, books, cabinets, sofas and chairs for guards to rest at on their breaks.

This cell block appears to have been hit harder than Cell Block A, since several of the walkways are blocked off with mattresses and beds, preventing access through. Several of these barricades are also on fire, further preventing them from being moved. There's a lot of special infected here, including Thugs and, more dangerously, Rams. Some of these Rams are located in the upper walkways, making them a lot harder to fight as there's barely any room to dodge their charges.

Notes[]

  • There's a load of pistol ammo by the blocked door on the other side of the control room, where the workbench is.
  • Infected hide out in some of the cells, able to quickly sprint out and catch you unawares. Make sure you check each cell before continuing, in case an Infected is hiding in it.
  • When you leave the control room, you exit through the armoury. There's some random ammo here, as well as some molotov cocktails. Another workbench is also here.
