The Camera is a quest item featured in Dead Island: Riptide. It is a professional film camera that was being used by Dave to film his horror movie on Palanai Island. When the Movie Set was overrun, Dave fled and was the only one of the cast and crew to escape, whilst also leaving the camera behind. He tasks the Heroes with recovering the camera and its battery in his side quest Genre: Horror Slasher so that he can recover the footage and salvage a movie out of it. Finding the camera on its tripod, the Heroes return it to Dave who laments the loss of the ending of his film.
Later, Dave travels to Halai Village intent on filming the end of his movie. Setting up the camera on a rooftop overlooking a trapped Thug, he recruits the Heroes to kill the Thug to end his movie in the side quest On the Set. Filming the end of the movie, he excitedly thanks the Heroes for saving his film.
