The camera as it appears before you pick it up
The Camera is an item featured in Escape Dead Island. It's an item you get at the start of the game on the boat, since Cliff Calo is starting his journalism career. The camera can zoom in and focus on a variety of enemies and objects.

The camera is found on Cliff's father's boat during Mission 1 - Smooth Sailing, out in the open at the stern of the boat.
Usage[]
The camera has a variety of uses. It can be used to photograph objects and enemies to give you some information on them. This can be useful for learning about different enemies and what they do. It can also be used to scout out an area by using the zoom function like a pair of binoculars and zooming in on far away objects. The main reason, however, is to unlock several achievements and trophies relating to photographing everything on the island.
Notes[]
- You can't sprint or crouch while using the camera.
- As such, you can't use the camera while already crouching, it will force you to stand, and if you can't stand up because you're blocked from above you can't bring it out.
- The camera moves independently from Cliff, so it's possible to do a complete 180 while in the camera without Cliff's body turning around. This is most easily seen in dark areas when the combat flashlight is on, as it points in the direction that Cliff's body is facing.
- The noise of the camera shutter when you take a picture will not alert zombies to you.
