The Beach is a location featured in Escape Dead Island. It is where Cliff Calo and his friends first land upon reaching Narapela. It has on it the beach bar and deserted hut, as well as some containers bearing the GeoPharm logo. It appears in the first part of the game, as it's the landing location of the dingy from Cliff's Father's Boat where the friends land on Narapela. It's where Cliff first hallucinates as well as where he first meets zombies. Cliff comes back here several times, each time with more equipment to reach different areas of the beach.
Layout[]
The beach is typical for all the beaches seen in the Banoi Archipelago, with soft yellow sand, palm trees and rocks dotted around. At one end of the beach, a large waterfall is seen, adding to the overall tropical atmosphere while many palm trees are found with small clumps of grass breaking up the sandy expanse. A deserted hut is found along the beach, likely used as either a beachside living bungalow or a first aid/lifeguard post. The beach ends in a cliff face where a set of metal stairs gave access to the building at the cliff top, but by the time Cliff arrives the stairs have collapsed. There's also a beachside bar just before the cliff which gave people a place to relax and drink while observing the tropical landscape. Opposite the bar is a small cave entrance which leads to a cave system under a nearby warehouse. At some point, some GeoPharm things turned up on the beach including a large blue shipping container and some smaller grey boxes.
Notes[]
- An entrance to the GeoPharm complex from the Underwater Labs DLC can be found between the deserted hut and beach bar, but you need to have the combat flashlight before you can enter it.
- The cave entrance will be blocked a short way in when you first arrive and won't unblock until you're a few missions into the game.
- The same is true for the zombies that appear at the cave entrance, you need to be past a certain mission for them to spawn in.
- There's a section of the beach which is during the night and only accessible briefly during New Game +.
- Towards the end of the game, Cliff once again hallucinates containers falling from the sky at the beach. Normally with these, they go away after the mission is over. However, if you return to the beach, the containers and zombies will still be there.
