Alesis Hernandez is a named Slobber and boss featured in Dead Island 2. He is encountered by the Slayers during the story quest Michael Anders and the Holy Grail, in the Outdoor Stage at Monarch Studios.
Background[]
Alesis was an actor working in Monarch Studios, where he had a major role in the movie The Rise of the God-Spider. However, following the zombie outbreak, he was infected somehow and became a Slobber. When Michael Anders visited Monarch Studios in search of actress Emma Jaunt's Romero trophy, Hernandez hunted him all across the studio. When the Slayer found Michael in Emma Jaunt's Trailer, Hernandez ambushed them. However, the Slayer defended Anders from the threat, killing Hernandez and sending Anders back to safety in Bel-Air.
Overview[]
Alesis is a Slobber, so he is very slow, very large but also very dangerous. His body is covered in boils and pus, and he can projectile vomit acidic bile at anything in range. He can also puke said acid onto the floor around him in a defense mechanism. Due to his lack of mobility, he prefers to remain solitary in one spot, content to remain sedentary and attack his prey from range.
Appearance[]
Sporting the typical features of a Slobber, Hernandez is an extremely rotund. His face and exposed chest is covered in boils each filled with toxic bile. An actor working in a ruins set, Hernandez wears tribal attire; he is naked save for a blue cape, gold necklace, a loincloth and a feather headdress.
Strategy[]
- As Alesis is a Slobber, any normal Slobber strategies will work.
- Alesis' boss fight also features a number of other zombies of varying types, including Burning Runners and Burning Walkers. This can make killing him challenging.
- You can either try and focus Alesis to finish the boss off quickly, or kill the "minion" zombies so that you can later focus solely on Alesis and his attacks.
- Like any Slobber, he does not care about his "allies", so use his projectile acid to deal free damage to the other zombies, as none of them are immune to caustic damage and so it will likely either kill or heavily damage them.
- There are various special FX control panels across the Outdoor Stage you can use to either damage Alesis or the other zombies around him:
- One button will detonate the gas tanker truck near to the diner, which can cause heavy damage to Alesis or kill any basic zombie near to it.
- Several buttons will unleash "spider venom" in the area, which is actually just water. Use this to instantly clean up acid pools in the area that Alesis has put down.
- The "spider venon" will also waterlog Alesis and other zombies, making electrical weapons more effective.
- Use either the Shuriken or Pipe Bomb Curveballs to deal damage to him from range.
- The Chem Bomb can act as a cleaning agent, removing acid from the ground where it hits. It will also work to waterlog him or other zombies.

- When killed, Alesis will drop a green 'uncommon' rarity weapon as well as the Uncommon Melee Liquidator Mod.
