The AK47 is a type of cut Auto Rifle featured in the game files of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. It's unknown exactly how they intended you to acquire this rifle, or why it's a named, real world firearm, but in any case the weapon was cut at some point in development, only present in the game files and requiring modding the game to acquire it.

Despite being a firearm, the weapon has very poor damage with poor accuracy but a high rate of fire and moderate reload speed. The very low damage is likely due to it being a cut and unfinished weapon, as the damage means you will struggle to kill even an Infected, requiring many full magazines to kill even the weakest zombie. The high rate of fire means nothing when the damage is so pitiful that kill zombies with this weapon is nigh impossible.

- The weapon sights are off, as the gun body will clip into the camera when aiming.
- Unlike the normal Auto Rifle, the AK47 only holds 20 rounds in a magazine rather than 30.
- In Riptide, the weapon has no name displayed and will not display in a higher rarity than white 'common' rarity, no matter what rarity you give it to yourself in.
